Dr. Evan Douple appointed as Associate Chief of Research |
Dr. Evan B. Douple was appointed as Associate Chief of Research as of 1
January 2008 to succeed Dr. Thomas Seed who resigned from the post on 28
December 2007. Dr. Douple came from the National Academy of Sciences (NAS),
where he served for more than 15 years, first as a Senior Staff Officer,
then Director of the Board on Radiation Effects Research, and most recently
as a Scholar in the Board on Nuclear and Radiation Studies, Division on
Earth and Life Studies. He is familiar with RERF since for more than 10
years he visited RERF on a regular basis as the Study Director for NAS'
support of RERF research activities and administration. Dr. Douple received
his Ph.D. in Radiation Biophysics from the University of Kansas and, prior
to joining NAS, he served as a Professor of Medicine in Dartmouth Medical
School for more than 20 years where he directed a radiation biology research
program.
