RERF Technologist Tsuyoshi Kobayashi Receives 17th Sakura Pathology Technology Award, Newcomer Prize

RERF is pleased to announce that Mr. Tsuyoshi Kobayashi, a technologist in the Molecular Pathology Laboratory of the Department of Molecular Biosciences at RERF, has received the 17th Sakura Pathology Technology Award, Newcomer Prize.

Mr. Kobayashi has been engaged in clinically valuable research, including on the utilization of biomarkers in urinary cytology, improvements in diagnostic accuracy, and proteomics research aimed at quality control of older, archival, formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded specimens. Such achievements have been actively communicated through scientific conference presentations and papers.

In addition, as a member of the Internationalization Working Group of the Japan Association of Medical Technologists, Mr. Kobayashi has been involved in communications with overseas technologists and presentations at international conferences, receiving such honors as the Outstanding Poster Award at the 62nd Annual Meeting of the Korean Association of Medical Technologists. His commitment to international activities as well as his proactive contributions to the local community in Hiroshima Prefecture were highly regarded and led to his being selected as the recipient of this award.

[Sakura Pathology Technology Award – Newcomer Prize]
This award was established to support a wide range of activities related to pathological testing and technology. It is presented to pathology technologists who have achieved outstanding results not only in academic research but also in areas such as community engagement and the training of junior colleagues, with particular emphasis on young technologists whose future contributions are especially anticipated.
