RERF holds its Open House event almost every year with the aim of allowing the general public “inside” our institute to see what we are all about. We want to express our gratitude to everyone involved in the event for their hard work in bringing about this year’s event—the 26th for our Hiroshima laboratory and the 24th for our Nagasaki facilities. We believe that this continued approach will enhance public awareness of RERF and its important work to understand radiation’s health effects in A-bomb survivors and their children.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, it wasn’t possible to hold the event this year at the two laboratories. So, for the first time, RERF is holding the Open House entirely online through the use of pre-recorded videos. It might seem a bit impersonal compared with previous events, but we are confident people who access the videos will gain clear and detailed insight into our history, research results, and everyday work.
We are hoping as many people as possible, no matter where they live, can log in online to experience RERF’s first “virtual” Open House.
