2024 RERF Open House has concluded
The Radiation Effects Research Foundation (RERF) has successfully concluded the 2024 Open House. Through this event, it aims to share its activities with the public widely, and saw many people participate again this year. RERF welcomed around 500 visitors to the event held at its research laboratories in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. RERF sincerely thanks everyone who joined the event despite the intense heat.
At the venues, we set up exhibits showcasing RERF’s research activities and a science corner to bring science closer to our visitors. We also held briefing sessions on our new research project, a genome analysis that is currently under development. About 90 people joined us for these sessions. The content conveyed the same information as the public lectures we held in Hiroshima and Nagasaki this spring.
Held in person for the first time in five years, this year’s Open House had some minor operational challenges due to this gap in experience. However, all of us at RERF are delighted to have the opportunity to showcase our laboratories and facilities firsthand. We would also like to extend our gratitude to everyone who supported us in making this event possible.
