RERF Holds 2026 Open House

The Radiation Effects Research Foundation holds Open House events annually to give the public a better understanding of its activities.
We held the events again this August at the laboratories in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and approximately 1,200 people in total attended the two events. We wish to express our appreciation to all those who visited, despite the sweltering heat.

Hiroshima Laboratory is scheduled to relocate to Hiroshima University’s Kasumi Campus, making this the final Open House held on Hijiyama. Nagasaki Laboratory offered exhibits and hands-on activities designed to help children learn while having fun. RERF also offered explanatory sessions on its ongoing genomic analysis study at both laboratories, which numerous visitors attended.

The Open House events provided a meaningful opportunity for visitors to get an up-close view of our research facilities and activities and to learn about RERF’s work. We appreciate your warm words and comments and will use them to guide our future activities.

We wish to offer our warmest gratitude to all who visited and to those who helped make the events possible.
