Study of mortality in children exposed in utero

Summary

A list of those born from the day of the A-bombing to 30 June 1946 will be prepared from the birth reports available in Hiroshima and Nagasaki cities and certain adjacent areas. All of the birth reports will be investigated as to the exposure status of the mother, some socioeconomic index before and after the birth, and survival status. A preliminary analysis will be conducted as to the completeness of the birth report. Then, a proper study group and its control group will be defined with consideration of socioeconomic factors.
