About
Dr. Tang is a Research Scientist in the Department of Statistics. Her research interests include biostatistics, statistical genetics, bioinformatics, and computational genomics. She develops and applies statistical and machine-learning methods for analyzing high-dimensional genomic data, with a particular focus on transcriptome-wide association studies, differential gene expression analysis, and the integration of single-cell and spatial transcriptomic data. Her research has been applied to complex diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease and breast cancer, with the goal of identifying disease-associated genes, biomarkers, and biological pathways. At RERF, Dr. Tang is interested in supporting future genetic and genomic studies investigating the biological mechanisms underlying radiation-induced carcinogenesis and the potential heritable effects of parental radiation exposure. She also plans to contribute biostatistical expertise to analyses of disease incidence and mortality in the Life Span Study and Adult Health Study cohorts.
